Correct, Sound Bullmastiffs that can work....... Working Bullmastiffs that can love

The triple Crown of the dog world - Liam
As a way to introduce ourselves, Bob and I have tried to present the areas that we emphasize in our breeding program and reflect the questions we are asked the most. Over the years, we have achieved many wonderful things. We are currently showing both, the number one dog in the United States (Liam) and one of the top if not the top bullmastiff in Canada (Uno). The highly prestigious wins of Westminster, the ABA national speciality and a All breed Best in show has been achieved in 2005 by Liam. liam has gone on to win the National speciality three years in a row. A rare and prestigious feat and one we are all beaming about. We are a moderate size kennel, choosing to stay that way so that all our dogs may experience a family atmosphere rather than being confined to kennels. We average 1-2 litters a year, feeling that this is a labor of love. We work off a reservation system and do not breed if we do not have need of a puppy ourselves or have people waiting for them. For specific inquires about litters or specific animals call us at 1-812-925-3830

TYPE
Our animals are bred to be within the upper half of the standard in size. We do not believe that bigger is better. We feel that by being within the standard you achieve the best size to perform the functions of a working breed. Louie is shown here. . He was number one in the U.S. in 2002 and a Top Ten Working Dog. He is both a multiple AKC all breed Best In Show and Best In Specialty Show bullmastiff. Even though Louie is at the bottom half of the standard he is an exceptional bullmastiff.

SOUNDNESS
Beauty is not just skin deep. Bullmastiffs, like all purebred dogs have certain specific health problems that may occur. We feel that the ability exists to screen for many of these problems before the animals are bred. Any bullmastiff that lives in this household has been screened at the age of 6 months. What we evaluate at this time is the status of the hips by x-raying using the methods of OFA and/or Penn-Hip. If a young puppy passes on either of these we will keep it as part of our family and spend the time, love and money to take it as far as possible. We also check thyroid function, do a blood profile and eye exams at this point. At some point between 6 and 12 months we include a color doppler cardiac exam by our local vet and ofa cardiac clearence at a year of age. Being fully aware that all of this does not guarantee us that we will be problem free, we do feel it increases the odds of producing the next generation with as few problems as possible.,,,,,, Bunny is shown here . At 15 months of age she has won the Canadian National Best of breed as well as winning the canadian and American nationals Sweepstakes. Her father, Uno , has achieved the honor of a all breed best in Canada in Nov of this year, 2005.

TEMPERAMENT
A beautiful dog is of no value if it is either aggressive or too shy to protect it's family. By aggression we mean aggression to people. We strive to have intelligent dogs with the ability to do well at different jobs from obedience to agility. Most of our girls are up beat and fearless, while the boys tend to be mellower and cuddly. We are blessed with many good friends that have similiar goals as well as the handling talents of our handlers, Bill, Cathy and Katie Martin. Our goal is to have bullies with brains and beauty. I feel we have made strides toward that goal by having 6-7 generations of dual conformation and obedience titles in our lines. We owned and bred the #1 Bullmastiff All Systems for 1996, and again in 2002. In 1997, we had the #1 bullmastiff and #8 working dog in Canada. We have had the good fortune to have a Specialty High in Trail, as well as having bred several CDX bullmastiffs and 10-15 obedience titlists. In 2002, Louie was #1 All Systems, Hunter was #3, Cassie and Apple were owner-handled to the number 1 and 2 bitch positions. This gave us four of the top twenty dogs in the breed for 2002. 2003 we had Hunter as number three and Marley and Liam all in the top 10. 2004 gave us the number one bullmastiff in both the US and Canada, Louie and Liam. 2005: Liam takes the triple crown and Uno goes Best in canada. Bunny wins the canadian national
